1. Who is responsible for the processing?
The data controller is Atelier Abdelaziz Nour (ATELIERAN), an architecture practice based in N'Djamena, Chad, which publishes the website abdelaziznour.com and the associated project-tracking area. The website is designed and managed directly by the practice, from the choice of texts to technical maintenance, with no editorial intermediary: no communications agency and no advertising network stands between the visitor and the practice.
For any question about your data, write to or , or use the contact form.
2. What data is processed?
The practice receives only what visitors choose to send it, by a deliberate action, together with a few technical details that any website needs in order to work.
What you send us
- Contact form and quote request: name, e-mail address, telephone number, message and, where relevant, information about the project (type, description, address, desired start date).
- Question about an article or a product: name, e-mail address and message.
- Unsolicited job application: name, e-mail address, message, and the attached curriculum vitae and cover letter.
- Registration for an event or a training course: name, e-mail address, telephone number and an optional message.
- Request for access to the project-tracking area (account creation or password change): name, e-mail address, telephone number and project title (optional), and the password chosen. The password is stored only in an encrypted, unreadable form, including for the administrator.
- Project-tracking area: exchanges, uploaded documents, schedule and approvals related to the project.
- Purchase in the Store: the buyer's e-mail address, and the reference and amount of the transaction. Payment details are entered on the payment provider's secure page and are never seen or kept by the practice.
- Newsletter: e-mail address, name (optional) and date of consent.
Technical data
When a link is followed or the address abdelaziznour.com is typed, the browser sends a request to the website's host, the global network of a professional provider, which operates servers in many countries so that the page is sent from a point close to the visitor and displays faster. For this exchange to work, the browser automatically sends some technical information, as it does on any other website: the device's connection address, known as the IP address; the type of browser and device used; and the page requested, with the date and time of the request. This information is used only for the technical operation and security of the site: it does not identify the visitor and no attempt is made to do so. The forms also use a temporary counter linked to the IP address, solely to limit abusive submissions.
The site also counts, anonymously, the page visited and the date of the visit, using an internal count that uses no cookie, records no IP address or personal identifier, and does not make it possible to follow the same visitor from one page to another. Audience measurement, which depends on your choice, is described in the Cookies section.
3. Why is this data processed?
The information in the forms is used to receive your request, understand its context, direct it to the right contact and reply to you. It is not added to any mailing list, nor used for prospecting, without the prior and explicit agreement of the person concerned.
Access requests are used to verify the applicant's identity and, after validation by the administrator, to open access to the project-tracking area; the area itself is used to move the project forward (exchanges, documents, schedule, approvals).
Purchase data is used to process the order and allow the purchased product to be downloaded. Technical data is used to run and secure the site and to limit abuse. Audience measurement, if you accept it, is used to improve the site. If you expressly subscribe to the newsletter, your e-mail address is used to send you the corresponding communications.
4. What are the legal bases for this processing?
Depending on the context, the processing of your request rests on the steps you take before a possible contractual relationship (quote, project, purchase), on the performance of that relationship once it has begun, and on the practice's legitimate interest in replying to the messages it receives and securing its website. Audience measurement and the sending of the newsletter rest on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
5. What information is mandatory?
In the contact form, name, telephone number and e-mail address are mandatory; for a question about an article or a product, name, e-mail address and message. For an account request, name, e-mail address and password are mandatory. For the newsletter, only the e-mail address and the consent box are mandatory; the name is optional.
Without the mandatory information, the practice cannot receive and process the request properly.
6. How long is data kept?
Data is kept for as long as necessary to process and follow up the request or the project, then deleted or archived in accordance with the applicable obligations. Project data remains available in the tracking area for as long as the project requires.
Newsletter addresses are kept as long as the person remains subscribed. After unsubscribing, the address is kept only as "unsubscribed", so that this choice is respected, until the person asks for its deletion. Audience-measurement cookies last a maximum of thirteen months.
You can ask for your data to be erased at any time, subject to any legal or contractual obligations requiring it to be kept.
7. Who can access the data?
The practice does not sell your personal data. It is accessible to authorised persons within the practice and, where necessary, to the technical providers involved in running the site:
- the hosting provider of the site, its database and the uploaded files;
- the consent-management provider, which supplies the cookie banner;
- the provider of the audience-measurement tool, only if you accept this measurement;
- the e-mail delivery provider used for confirmations and the newsletter, when enabled;
- the payment provider, for purchases in the Store.
The detailed list of providers and cookies is shown in the consent banner. These providers may process data outside Chad, under their own terms. Data may also be disclosed to the competent authorities where a legal obligation requires it.
Connection security
The site address begins with https and is usually accompanied by a small padlock: exchanges between the visitor's device and the site are encrypted and travel in a form that cannot be read by anyone trying to intercept them, for example on a public wireless network. This protection is enabled by default across the whole site, with no action required from the visitor.
8. What are your rights?
Under the conditions provided by the applicable regulations, you may request access to your data, its rectification, its erasure, the restriction of its processing, object to certain processing, or request its portability where this right applies. You may also withdraw your consent for processing that is based on it.
To exercise your rights, write to or stating your request; an ordinary message sent through the contact form is enough, with no particular wording. Requests receive a reply within a reasonable time. You may also contact the authority competent for data protection.
This policy takes into account the Chadian framework, in particular law no. 007/PR/2015 on the protection of personal data.
9. What about cookies?
Definition
A cookie is a small text file that a website places in the browser, comparable to a bookmark or a cloakroom ticket: it lets the site remember a piece of information from one page to the next, or from one visit to the next. A cookie contains no program, cannot read the files on the device and cannot install anything on it: it simply stores a short piece of information. A distinction is made between session cookies, which disappear when the browser is closed, and persistent cookies, which remain for a set period, as well as first-party cookies, placed by the visited site itself, and third-party cookies, placed by other companies through the visited site.
Cookies used
This site uses three families of cookies or equivalent mechanisms. Only the first is essential to the operation of the site; the other two depend on the visitor's choice.
1. Technical login cookie (no consent required)
A strictly technical cookie keeps a user or team member logged in once identified in the private area, at espace.abdelaziznour.com. It disappears at logout or after a long period of inactivity, and it is never placed for an ordinary visitor of the public site who does not log in to any personal area. Because it is strictly necessary for the service requested, it does not require consent.
2. Remembering your cookie choice
On the first visit, a consent banner is displayed. It is supplied by a specialised provider, which stores the choice made in the browser so that the question is not asked again on every page and the choice is respected on later visits. Without it, a visitor's refusal could not be remembered. To display it, the visitor's browser contacts this provider's servers.
3. Audience measurement (only with your agreement)
To understand how the site is used, for example which pages are read most or which countries visitors come from, the site uses an audience-measurement tool supplied by a third-party provider. This tool is activated only after acceptance in the consent banner: as long as the visitor has not accepted, or if they refuse, no audience-measurement cookie is placed and no measurement is made. When accepted, it places cookies for a maximum of thirteen months and sends the provider browsing information: pages viewed, date and duration of the visit, type of device and browser, approximate geographic origin. This information is used only to improve the site, is not used to display advertising and is never combined with identity data. The provider may process it on servers located outside Chad, notably in the United States, under its own privacy terms.
Cookies not used
This site places no advertising cookie intended to target a visitor according to their interests, no social-network cookie allowing a third-party platform to recognise a visitor, and no tracking tool that would allow browsing on other sites to be observed. No information is sold or shared with anyone for commercial or advertising purposes.
Managing your choices and cookies
The choice made in the banner can be changed or withdrawn at any time, as easily as it was given, using the cookie-preferences link or icon of the consent banner. Refusing audience measurement has no effect on access to the site or its functions. It is also possible to block audience-measurement tools with the browser's settings or a tracker-blocking extension.
All current browsers also let you view and delete the cookies placed by the sites you visit, usually in a setting called "Privacy" or "Browsing data". Deleting this site's login cookie has only one consequence: you will have to log in to the private area again on your next visit. Deleting the choice or audience cookies will make the banner appear again on your next visit.
10. The newsletter
If you expressly subscribe to the newsletter, by entering your e-mail address and ticking the consent box, the address is used only to send you the practice's new Labs articles, projects, training courses and events. When e-mail sending is enabled, a confirmation message is sent to you first: the subscription takes effect only after you click the link it contains. Your consent is recorded with its date.
Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link that works in one click, with no login and no justification. You can also write to the practice to ask for your address to be deleted. Addresses are neither sold nor transferred, and are used for no purpose other than sending the newsletter.
11. External links
Some pages contain links to other sites: publications cited as references, the practice's social networks, professional partners. Payment for an order in the Store also leads, for the time of payment, to the secure page of a payment provider outside the site. Following one of these links takes you away from abdelaziznour.com to an environment that works under its own rules, may place its own cookies and follows its own privacy policy, entirely independent of the one described here. It is therefore advisable, if in doubt, to read the information pages of these third-party sites directly, as the practice has no control over this once the link is followed.
12. Changes to this policy
This page may be modified to reflect changes in the practice's services, the tools used or applicable requirements. The version published on this page, whose date appears at the top, is the version in force.
